Your shelve
tells your story.
A great whisky shelf doesn’t just happen, it’s chosen with care. It is personal. Each bottle brings something different: one with depth, one with warmth, one that surprises you. Together, they balance each other — smoky, sweet, bold, and smooth. It’s not about how many you own, but how well they fit you. A small selection that feels complete, no matter the moment. The Whisky Shelve is our personal take on a great starting point for your whisky collection.
Two solid paths to building your whisky shelve.
Build it around your favorite. You already know your favorite whisky and build your collection around that bottle. Look for bottles with similar grain recipes, age statements and taste profiles.
Go for diversification. Make sure all types of whiskies are covered on your shelve. Cornerstones like single malts, classic speyside, Islay smoke and bourbons.
-
Dalwhinnie 15 years. The type of whisky that requires no proof. Light, clean, with a hint of smoke and just enough sweetness to keep it rounded, it's produced in one of Scotland's top distilleries, and you can taste that in the glass. A hint of heather, honey, and a gentle warmth that develops gradually rather than abruptly are all present. This whisky doesn't aim to dazzle with peat or strength. You are won over by its self-control, steadiness, and serenity. The more time you spend with it, the more you realize how ordinary things may yet have a distinctive touch.
-
The Balvenie Doublewood 12 year. A Speyside classic matured in two types of oak for extra complexity. The first cask brings warmth and vanilla; the sherry finish adds rich fruit and spice. Rounded, balanced, and unmistakably crafted — this is everyday elegance in a bottle.
-
Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve. Speyside whisky meets island warmth. Finished in rum casks, it brings soft notes of pineapple, toffee, and smooth vanilla. There’s an easy, relaxed feel to it; gently tropical, rounded, and full of warmth. It carries a hint of the Caribbean — the vibes of life of places like Cuba. A great addition to a new oak-focused shelve.
-
Four Roses Single Barrel. It is rounded out into something strong and sophisticated by maturing in new oak, while its high rye content adds spice. Ripe fruit, caramel, vanilla, and a lingering, dry finish all come together. Curiousity is rewarded by this bourbon. A reminder that subtleties can exist even in constancy, each bottle has a unique feel. Four Roses Single Barrel represents patience, care, and faith in the process. This type of bourbon is respected without having to be asked. Do not get close to this whiskey, since it's single barrel your next purchase could taste a whole lot different.
-
Buffalo Trace. A Kentucky straight bourbon that delivers far more than its price suggests. Vanilla, toffee, and oak run through a rich, balanced but spicy palate.
-
Nikka Coffey Malt. A whisky that does things differently. It is made entirely from malted barley, but distilled in a Coffey still — a technique usually reserved for grain whisky. The result is smooth and rich, with notes of vanilla, biscuit, and soft fruit like fresh berries. It feels warm, creamy, and a little unexpected. A whisky that shows Japan’s quiet confidence in doing things their own way.
-
Hibiki Harmony. A bottle of balance. A blend of malt and grain whiskies from the Hakushu, Yamazaki and the Chita distilleries. The whiskies are drawn from five different casks ranging from American white oak to Sherry casks. This method results in a super balanced whisky: nothing too sharp, nothing too sweet. It’s smooth, elegant, and easy to enjoy. A whisky that captures the gentle rhythm of Japanese craftsmanship.
-
Millstone Single Cask. Dutch boldness in a bottle. Sweet and smoky meet in exactly the right balance, unlike many others. Each cask is bottled by hand. Wood, climate and time all play parts in shaping the whisky from this cask. This deserves a spot on the shelve, however each bottle can taste differently. It's a suprise in a bottle.
-
The Bulleit Old Fashioned. Bold, bright, and unmistakably American. Bulleit is a high rye bourbon which gives it a lively spice with smooth hints of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak. The high rye content balance greatly against the sweetness of sugar and bitterness of Angostura bitters. Best for the one and only cocktail: The Old Fashioned.
